AIDS AWARENESS RALLY
We have conducted an “AIDS AWARENESS RALLY” organized with the help of “ Indian Red cross Society ” Perambur range. The chief guests were Thiru.R. Alagesan Asst. commissioner of Police – MKB Nagar Range. Thiru P. Sailendran –Tahsildar –Perambur Taluk, Dr. B. Selvanathan - Hon – secretary Indian Red cross Society – Perambur Taluk, Dr. M. Venkatesan –Chairman of Indian Red cross society, Thiru.K.Kaliraj – Inspector of Police – P5 MKB Nagar Police Station, Tmt. Jyothi lakshmi – Inspector of Police –P3 Crime – Vyasarpadi,Mrs. Gillian Helen – President – PREFECT Charitable Trust) accompanied by our Correspondent Mr. M.Ramu, Chairman Mr.R.Yuvaraj, Principal Mrs. Mary Cecilia .J
AIDS Awareness Programme
AIDS ----> Acquired Immuno Defeciency Syndrome is caused by HIV ( Humans Immuno Virus) It has been caused due to
a) Blood Transfusion - 90%
b) Needle sharing injection drug use - 0.67%
c) Child birth ( to child) - 25%
It just started in Africa in the year 1983 – 3,100,000 were affected Then it spreads to Nigeira in the year 1985 – 3,00,000 were affected Again it spreads to India in the year 1986 – 2,500,000 were affected. Tamilnadu also was most affected .So we planned to organize an AIDS Awareness Rally in our school with a combined effort from Indian Red cross society.
